MUST-VISIT THIS SEPTEMBER

Although summer does not seem nearly as time of which we speak in the past tense, September slowly arrived, and with it the series of entertaining and attractive event. The beginning of autumn there will be something for everyone, and we are sure that it will completely delight all who find themselves in Zagreb during this month. We have singled out our five favorites:

ZeGeVege Festival

This year, on September 6th and 7th, the 12th ZeGeVege Festival will take place in Zagreb’s main square. Ban Jelačić Square will be full of local and international exhibitors of health foods, cosmetics that are not tested on animals, and environmental and other sustainable products. The event also has an educational character and will try to inform visitors about the sustainable lifestyle, and how to use natural resources without compromising environmental and other plant and animal species. 52nd PiF – International Puppet Theatre Festival

The magic of puppetry art will extend through Zagreb from September 13 to September 19 and entertain participants of all ages with its rich program. For the 52nd year, there will be an International Festival of Puppet Theater of domestic and foreign theaters. The official opening of the festival will take place on September 14, when the organizers scheduled the play “Jacob Fearless”. In addition to various performances, the program also offers a great number of interesting workshops so that your creativity and imagination could be highlighted. „The world on a plate“ Festival

Gastro hedonists will certainly note the beginning of September in their calendar. From August 30 to September 9, local and foreign visitors will be able to enjoy an abundance of local and foreign cuisine at the 4th World Food Festival – The World on a Plate. Croatian, Chinese, Indonesian, Russian, Ukrainian, African cuisine, as well as many others, will be brought together in Zagreb’s European Square, offering interesting flavors and new experiences to visitors. Be sure not to miss the opening of the festival, which traditionally starts with Croatian Day and free servings of štrukli!

7th Festival of World Literature

The seventh Festival of World Literature is being held in Zagreb this year from September 4th to September 11th. The eminent names of Croatian and world literature will be hosted. The festival’s goal is to raise awareness of books as well as reading books in general with addition of presenting new editions. This year, special emphasis will be placed on Italian literature and comics, along with 15 other guest countries. More information about the event as well as ticket prices can be found here.

Food Film Festival

In the most beautiful Zagreb park Zrinjevac, just a few steps from the Palace Hotel, from 6th to 15th September, you will be able to visit the already well-known Food Film Festival. The festival is dedicated to the combination of the two arts – film and food. Visitors will be able to enjoy in various gastronomic delicacies, foodie films, as well as culinary and wine workshops during the festival. Movies will be broadcast at 8:30 pm, while the festival will be open daily from 11am to 11pm. More information can be found here.
